The demand for workers brought on by increased populations and tourism is bumping pay upward, especially in Iowa’s urban cores. Performing arts, events and spectator sports, amusements, gaming and recreation are Iowa’s main employment areas in arts and entertainment, while restaurants, bars and lodging make up 97 percent of service-sector jobs.
